Sandglass Theater Presents HECUBA, 3/11-13

By:

Ten years of war and siege have left the infrastructure of the city of Troy in rotting ruins. Boats sway in the building wind, as Greek soldiers prepare to embark with their freshly conquered slaves. Metal scrapes, bodies fall, and hearts pound and race as the captors abuse and the slaves rebel.
One woman takes justice into her own hands. This great queen, Hecuba, persuades King Agamemnon to acquiesce to her rumblings for justice, or is she seeking vengeance, against her son's murderer.

Under the direction of Eric Bass, NEYT's young performers, ages 9-13, are taking on Euripides' Hecuba. These students are excited to explore and interpret the tragic fallout of a long and bloody war - a war that has left both sides damaged and seeking reparations and vengeance. Catch the final weekend of this production March 11-13, Friday & Saturday evenings at 7 pm, with Saturday & Sunday matinees at 2 pm. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, and $6 for students.

You may purchase advance tickets online at www.neyt.org, or at the NEYT box office on Wednesdays from 12-5pm or call at 802-246-6398.
