Night Fires, a celebration of the winter solstice, has been delighting and moving audiences for over thirty years with its blend of magic, mystery, marvelous music and soaring storytelling language. Ardent fans speak of it as inspiration and food for dreams in the long winter nights to come. This year's performances tell a tale of Story itself as it weaves together traditional and contemporary music from Ireland, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Mongolia, Finland, Cape Verde, the Caucasus, the Maori of New Zealand and the Americas.

Several talented newcomers join a familiar cast of gifted actors and singers, among these are Annie Nessen Voorhees, Deb Gwinn, Stephanie Gallas, Clarke Jordan and Abigail and Shaun Bengson whose vaudevillian indie folk opera, Hundred Days, premiers this coming March in San Francisco before its many-stops-on-the-way journey to New York.

Night Fires will be performed at Middlebury's Town Hall Theater on Friday, December 21 at 8:00 pm, Saturday, December 22 at 4:00 and 8:00 pm, and Sunday, December 23 at 4:00 pm. Tickets: $23/$20 seniors/$18 students, are available by calling 802-382-9222, at www.townhalltheater.org, or at the door. Pre-show singing begins approximately 20 minutes before the show.
