Arts Umbrella Theatre & Music presents five diverse and distinctive productions by gifted young artists at the Expressions Theatre Festival 2017, running May 18 – 27 at the Waterfront Theatre on Granville Island. The annual celebration of Arts Umbrella’s burgeoning talent, ages 13 to 19, features a beloved lineup of theatre favourites performed by the Junior, Senior and Musical Theatre Troupes, as well as an exciting new work by the Laboratory Theatre Troupe. From the sharp satire of Urinetown: The Musical to the playful compilation The Complete Works of William Shakespeare: (abridged), this year’s program offers an array of diverse and thought-provoking works, including the emotionally resonant, world premiere of Living In My Skin, and the beloved family classic Charlotte’s Web. The Expressions Theatre Festival will introduce Vancouver to the next generation of theatre artists to watch.
