This event brings professional Indigenous, refugee, Black, racialized and disabled theatre, dance and musical artists together to share arts-based creative narratives on their diverse experiences. Please see highlights below. We have presented this show in Winnipeg, Canadian Museum of Human Rights and in Saint John, Imperial Theatre. And we are so excited to be bringing it to Vancouver! This is a free event, and we hope to get as many diverse community members out as professional theatre is often inaccessible to our communities. This is organized by the New Society Institute, bringing members from our local solidarity networks, who are from diverse Indigenous nations, foundational and migrant Black communities, diverse refugee groups, and Deaf and disabled people to watch the show; from Saint John, Toronto, Montreal, Winnipeg, Iqaluit, Yellowknife and our local community members in Vancouver – hosted by Warriors Against Violence Society.
