The Wyvern Theatre today announced that Suzie Chard will join Keith Chegwin in this year's pantomime Aladdin as Genie of the Lamp.

Suzie will join the Wyvern's seasonal pantomime straight from the UK Tour of Oliver!, where she currently plays Widow Corney.

"I am really excited that Suzie has accepted the role of Genie," says Producer Daryl Back. "Suzie is a fabulous musical theatre performer with a fantastic voice and the role will be specifically written for her in order to show off this incredible talent".

Suzie has a host of theatre credits to her name and has played several sorts of fairy (good and bad!) in Panto productions such as Mother Goose, Pinocchio, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Buttercup the Barmaid in Cinderella.

"Having Suzie Chard as the Genie has already made a wish of mine come true!" said Theatre Director Derek Aldridge. "I cannot wait to see her take the Wyvern stage by storm in Aladdin. She is a brilliant theatrical performer and our audiences will love her!"

Aladdin will boast a brand-new script, singing, dancing, stunning sets, beautiful costumes and an abundance of comedy.

Aladdin, starring Keith Chegwin, will run at the Wyvern Theatre from Saturday 8 December 2012 to Sunday 6 January 2013. Book tickets today at wyverntheatre.org.uk or by calling the Ticket Office on 01793 524 481.
