OKLAHOMA! Takes the Lyceum Stage This Month

By:

Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic feel-good musical Oklahoma! comes to the Lyceum stage from Tuesday 21 July - Saturday 1 August, starring television and stage stars Belinda Lang and Gary Wilmot.

Celebrating the vigour of America's pioneering spirit with classic tunes and foot stomping dances, Oklahoma! tells the story of two sets of star-crossed lovers. Cowboy Curly loves Laurey, Aunt Eller's niece and the girl of his dreams but Curly's rival is the mysterious and dangerous hired hand Jud Fry. Meanwhile, Ado Annie is torn between cowboy Will and peddler Ali Hakim.

Belinda Lang, best known for her role as Bill Porter in the BBC comedy 2point4 Children, plays fun-loving Aunt Eller with musicals legend Gary Wilmot (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Pajama Game, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) as travelling salesman Ali Hakim.

From the award-winning producers of The King & I and Fiddler on the Roof, this new, colourful production overflows with some of the best loved songs in musical theatre including Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin', I Cain't Say No, The Surrey With the Fringe on Top, Kansas City, People Will Say We're in Love and the rousing title song, Oklahoma!

Oklahoma! is at the Lyceum Theatre from Tuesday 21 July - Saturday 1 August.
