Set in an imaginary lunatic asylum, Mad Women in My Attic! is the cabaret brainchild of Italian performer Monica Salvi. After critically acclaimed runs at the Brighton and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals, the show returns to London for Halloween after a Broadway debut at the United Solo Theatre Festival in New York earlier in October.

Typecasting and a theatre career drove her to insanity. She exchanged stage wings for padded walls, glamorous costumes for a white nightgown, and adoring audiences for a bunch of inmates - and yet, she will sing! A madwoman proudly recounts the roles and songs which made her who she is today, celebrating that fine line between creativity and madness.

After often being typecast in roles of crazy women, Salvi was inspired to develop a cabaret to celebrate all of the mad songs and characters she had in her repertoire. Participate with her and her psychothera-pianist in a musical group therapy, administered through the wonderful melodies of Stephen Sondheim, Kurt Weill, Kander & Ebb, Maury Yeston, Tom Lehrer, Heisler & Goldrich... Mad Women in My Attic! is a fantastic romp through showtunes, folk and cabaret songs, celebrating the mentally unstable women that populate music and theatre.
