Keith Chegwin to Appear at Cheggers Chase Tomorrow at Abbey Stadium

By: Nov. 26, 2013

On Wednesday 27 November, Keith Chegwin will visit SwinDon Greyhounds' Abbey Stadium to meet and congratulate the winner of the second race. Race 2, which begins at 6:44PM, has been renamed The Cheggers Chase in celebration of Swindon's favourite pantomime star.

The Wyvern Theatre has been selling tickets for the races on Wednesday 27 November for an entertaining charity race night, with all proceeds donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital. Since October 2010 HQ Theatres, alongside its sister company Qdos Entertainment, has been raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital's Theatres for Theatres Appeal. To date we have raised £431,000 for the appeal which aims to build new state-of-the-art operating theatres at the hospital, which treats very sick children across the UK.

"We're thrilled that SwinDon Greyhounds are supporting the Wyvern Theatre's fundraising efforts by hosting this charity race night," said Marketing Manager Richard Loftus. "I'm particularly looking forward to The Cheggers Chase."

"Pantomime and the Greyhound racing have been entertaining the people of Swindon for many years," said the marketing director for SwinDon Greyhounds, Jo Clarke. "We've thoroughly enjoyed working with the Wyvern Theatre, another local business, to fundraise and support Great Ormond Street Hospital."

Jack and the Bean-stakes, an entertaining charity race night, will take place at SwinDon Greyhounds Abbey Stadium on Wednesday 27 November. Tickets are just £5.00 and all proceeds donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital. Tickets are available to purchase in advance at wyverntheatre.org.uk. Doors open at 5:30PM, first race at 6:28PM.

Jack and the Beanstalk will run at the Wyvern Theatre from Sat 7 December 2013 to Sun 5 January 2014. Book tickets today at http://wyverntheatre.org.uk or by calling the Ticket Office on 01793 524 481.
