Jodok Cello to Make UK Debut with Katherine Jenkins This October

With 18 million followers and hundreds of millions of video views, Swiss musician Jodok Cello has become one of the most-watched instrumentalists on the internet. Now, having built a worldwide audience through performances filmed on mountain tops, beside lakes and amid forests, he is preparing to make his UK live debut this autumn. The dates come as his online success increasingly translates into sold-out concerts across Europe, with a new album and further live plans to follow in 2027.

This October, British audiences will have their first opportunity to see him live when he joins Welsh classical superstar Katherine Jenkins as special guest on her 25 Year Anniversary Tour, performing on stage alongside Katherine at venues across the UK and Ireland between 2 and 27 October. The dates include Manchester's Bridgewater Hall, the London Palladium, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and The Glasshouse in Gateshead.

The tour follows Jodok and Katherine's recently released interpretation of the “Flower Duet”, bringing together her mezzo-soprano voice and his expressive cello playing.

Born Jodok Vuille and raised on an organic farm in Switzerland's Emmental region, Jodok has developed an approach that brings together music, nature and a strong sense of adventure. Frequently performing barefoot in spectacular outdoor locations, he has taken the cello beyond its traditional setting and introduced it to millions of people around the world.

His videos range from classical works to contemporary songs and cinematic interpretations, but the setting is as important as the repertoire. Mountains, forests and open landscapes are not simply backdrops: they reflect Jodok's belief in the connection between music, nature and wellbeing.

Before his musical breakthrough, Jodok trained and worked as a teacher. That experience continues to shape his outlook, particularly his belief in the potential of social media to give younger audiences greater access to classical music, creativity and the natural world.

At a time when the role of social media in young people's lives is under increasing scrutiny, Jodok's story offers a different perspective on what those platforms can achieve. His performances have introduced classical music to an audience far beyond the conventional concert halls, while encouraging millions of followers to engage with nature and the outdoors.

His relationship with the cello itself is equally personal. As his final project at Waldorf School, Jodok spent 568 hours building an instrument by hand. It is the same cello he continues to perform with today.

Alongside his own live shows, Jodok has collaborated and performed with artists including Andrea Bocelli, Il Divo, Teddy Swims, Il Volo, Lindsey Stirling, Alan Walker and Plácido Domingo Jr. He has also performed for the Qatari royal family and received the World Influencer Award for Music in Cannes.

At the heart of his work is a desire to make the cello feel accessible, emotional and relevant to a modern audience. Rather than separating classical music from popular culture, digital media or the natural world, Jodok brings those elements together in a way that has allowed him to build one of the largest online followings of any classical musician.

Jodok Cello says: “Sharing the stage with Katherine is a true honour. I've admired her artistry for many years, and from the first note we played together, it felt incredibly natural. I'm excited to bring our musical connection to audiences across the UK and Ireland and to be part of such a special celebration of her career.”
