Young Centre for the Performing Arts in association with Luminato presents the Waves Festival from June 18 - 20, 2010.

Following the huge success of the inaugural New Waves festival last year, the Young Centre will once again be transformed into an artistic treasure hunt of free spontaneous interactive performances for the closing weekend of Luminato. Programmed by the Young Centre's 12 Resident Artists and featuring over 100 Toronto artists, the Waves Festival is a celebration of this city's cultural life. Filling every corner of the Young Centre for the Performing Arts, the Waves Festival features a vast array of new, original 15-minute works ranging from theatre, dance, and music performances to innovative mixed-media work and installations. The Waves Festival offers something for all ages and interests, free of charge.

The Young Centre's 12 Resident Artists are: Waleed Abdulhamid, David Buchbinder, Roberto Campanella, Andrew Craig, Weyni Mengesha, John Millard, Claudia Moore, Andrea Nann, Patricia O'Callaghan, Soheil Parsa, Noah Richler and Suba Sankaran.

The Waves Festival is produced in association with Luminato and runs Friday, June 18 (7 - 10 PM), Saturday, June 19 (2 - 10 PM), and Sunday, June 20 (2 - 6 PM) at the Young Centre for the Performing Arts.
