TEATRON Toronto Jewish Theatre presents the North American Premiere of CAN I REALLY DATE A GUY WHO WEARS A YARMULKE? a comedy by Amy Holson-Schwartz at the Toronto Centre for the Arts - Studio Theatre.

5040 Yonge St., Toronto
Through March 11, 2012

About the show: "Eleanor is a smart, savvy Ph.D candidate. Just back from a disastrous Birthright trip and a broken relationship, she is thrust into a new relationship with Aaron. He's a doctor, he's got the brains, the looks, the wit... But wait! He's also got a serious case of Zionism and affinity to religion. Can Eleanor, whose secular brand of Judaism might include the occasional latke but definitely does not include God, see past his yarmulke to find her true love? This is a love story. It's a story of identity. It's about who you are and who you can be."

"CAN I REALLY DATE A GUY WHO WEARS A YARMULKE? is a fun piece of comedic relief to follow our last two powerful dramas, DECEIVED and A TINY PIECE OF LAND," says the Director, Ari Weisberg. "This comedy looks at the different perspectives of the younger generation regarding their Jewish heritage, tradition and Israel. In spite of the differences in world view and practice, the comedy concludes with a common and positive outlook."

TEATRON Theatre has already assembled a cast for CAN I REALLY DATE A GUY WHO WEARS A YARMULKE?. The cast of six includes returning actors Ron Boyd, Reva Lawry*, and Jada Rifkin, as well as experienced actors Scott Leaver*, Jesse Nerenberg* and Adrianna Prosser.

Directed by Ari Weisberg, Artistic Director and founder of TEATRON Theatre and stage managed by Sandra Dagovic, CAN I REALLY DATE A GUY WHO WEARS A YARMULKE? concludes TEATRON's ninth season of fine Jewish-themed plays.
