Tango Legends Presented by The Sony Centre for the Performing Arts
The Sony Centre For The Performing Arts will present TANGO LEGENDS live on stage for one night only on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 8pm. Following the performance, all ticket-holders are invited to a post-show Milonga (Tango Dance Party), hosted by Rhythm & Motion Dance Studio, in the lobby of the Sony Centre.
Created by two of Buenos Aires' most respected and renowned Tango artists, Mariela Maldonado and Pablo Sosa, TANGO LEGENDS features 12 award-winning dancers led by Maldonado and Sosa, accompanied by the master musicians of Emiliano & Lautaro Greco Quintet, who bring to the stage the legendary glamour, precision footwork and seductive nature of Tango -- the soul of Argentina.
Al Pacino dances it. Yo-Yo Ma plays it. UNESCO declares Tango an "Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity". The world moves to it.
SONY CENTRE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS, Toronto's first performing arts centre, has played a defining role in the cultural life of Toronto for more than 50 years. Today, the newly renovated Sony Centre's mission is to unite the global citizens of Toronto through great artistic experiences. In addition, the Sony Centre is dedicated to developing Toronto's younger audiences through family programming; workshops targeted towards school-aged audiences, an under-30 membership program, and other community initiatives.
