Sex T-Rex, Toronto's hottest comedic theatre company, teams up with the Storefront Theatre for a double bill of old school cinematic entertainment and adventure. Watch out WIldkat! and Swordplay, both award-winning comedies by Sex T-Rex, run March 11th - 27th.

Sex T-Rex, a resident company at Toronto's Bad Dog Theatre, has wowed audiences across the country since their inception nearly a decade ago.

Watch out WildKat! premiered at the Montreal Fringe in 2014, receiving five star reviews from the CBC, The Torontoist, and Halifax's The Coast, as well as taking home the awards for Best Show and Best Comedy at the Atlantic and Montreal Fringes. Borrowing from the genre of Hollywood's golden age of Westerns, Watch Out Wildkat!, directed by Alec Toller (S lip/ Circlesnake, D ark Matter/ Circlesnake, Special Constables/ Circlesnake) follows the tale of Wildkat McReady Kaitlin Morrow (Macbeth/Shakespeare in the Ruff, Throne of Games/ Bad Dog Theatre, P oe/ ABC), a take-no-shit bounty huntress hell-bent on avenging the death of her father Daniel Pagett (S lip/ Circlesnake, Big Plans/Scapegoat Collective, The Village Green/ Applebox Film Co). As McReady hunts for her father's murderer we travel from dusty San Antonio to a Mexican nunnery, to the Mojave Desert turned peyote dream highway. Sex T-Rex's brand of inventive physical comedy and stylized genre-based theatre invites audiences to experience a cinematic adventure on a blackbox stage.

Swordplay: A Play Of Swords, the second half of this action-packed double feature, is a love letter to classic Swashbucklers and retro fantasy video games that inverts the genre's stereotypes while offering a sophisticated parody on more modern offerings like Game of Thrones. Barnabas Conor Bradbury (Special Constables/ Circlesnake, A Galaxy Far Far Away/ Bad Dog Theatre) and Salvatore Seann Murray (Ring Round the Moon/ Soulpepper, Macbeth/Shakespeare in the Ruff, Puppeteer for Mermaid Theatre) have set out to rescue Princess Pimpernel Morrow from the evil Baron Thorne Julian Frid (Enamigos/F unny or Die, Julius Caesar/ Hart House). From chandelier swinging to dragon riding, the relentless ingenuity and playfulness of S wordplay invites audience members to take a break from their screens and be swept away by their imagination.

Comedy, often overlooked in the Canadian theatre scene as the bastard son of drama, is proven as tragedy's equal in Sex T-Rex's intelligent, hilarious, and inventive new style of theatre. It is the perfect play to indoctrinate new generations of theatre goers, and will delight the already initiated.
