Legendary rockers Aerosmith, with special guests, ZZ Top begin their Western Canadian tour in four weeks, beginning August 7 in Winnipeg and concluding August 15 in Vancouver. The North American tour, presented by Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, - also stops in Regina, Edmonton and Calgary- and is widely considered as "The Rock Event of the Summer." Tickets for all cities are available at www.ticketmaster.ca.

Aerosmith made history last year when Activision released Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, marking the first music-based game built around the legendary music of Aerosmith. The groundbreaking partnership united "America's greatest hard rock act" (as described by Mojo Magazine editor Phil Alexander in his May '07 cover story) with the massively successful videogame franchise; sales exploded and broke records, with Aerosmith reaching another generation of fans.

Currently in the studio working on a new album, Aerosmith has defined Rock 'n' Roll for the past 30 years. They've earned countless awards (including four Grammy Awards, eight American Music Awards, six Billboard Awards, and 12 MTV Awards), performed electrifying sold-out concerts around the world and generated a fan-base numbering in the millions worldwide. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members since 2001, the members of Aerosmith remain creatively vital and are the platinum standard for artistic and commercial success in the music business. Through it all they have undeniably withstood the test of time.

"I have always been a huge fan of ZZ Top," says Aerosmith's Joe Perry. "I toured with them with the Joe Perry Project, and those shows were unforgettable. With ZZ Top on this bill, it will definitely kick us into overdrive."

Celebrating their 40th anniversary, ZZ Top played their first show in February 1970 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Beaumont, Texas. The personnel line-up for "That little ol' band from Texas" has not changed since: a claim no other band can make, and along the way, has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (2004). ZZ Top performed at the 1997 Super Bowl halftime show and the landmark Eliminator album was in the first group of recordings to achieve RIAA's Diamond status in recognition of domestic sales in excess of 10 million units. Live From Texas was released last year and debuted at #1 on Billboard's music DVD chart. The band contributes its consistency to the fact that they are "the same three guys playing the same three chords."
