Sting's THE LAST SHIP Will Play Norway, Sweden and Finland!

According to the New York Times, The Last Ship, for which Sting earned a 2015 Tony nomination, will play Norway, Sweden and Finland in the coming years. Sting's spokesperson Rick Miramontez told NYT that the musical will be performed in th native language of each country when it arrives in Oslo (2016) and in Stockholm and Helsinki in (2017).

THE LAST SHIP played its final performance on Broadway on Saturday, January 24, but fans still have another chance to catch the cast in action. Tonight, March 2 (9:30PM), they will reunite at 54 Below for 'Songs in the Quay of Life: THE LAST SHIP Company in Concert.' The original cast and band will celebrate their run with an eclectic evening themed around seafaring songs. Proceeds will go to support Wallsend Boys Club in the north of England, which was founded by shipbuilders.

THE LAST SHIP will play its final performance on Broadway tonight, January 24 at 8 p.m., at the Neil Simon Theatre (where it has played 29 preview performances and 105 regular performances). Prior to its Broadway debut, The Last Ship had a five-week tryout in Chicago last summer, where it played 38 performances. On December 9, 2014, Sting, who composed The Last Ship's score, joined the cast in the role of Jackie White, the foreman of the shipyard who rallies his community to build one last ship meant to sail the world. Just yesterday, Sting and the cast of his Broadway musical, The Last Ship, gathered at Sardi's (234 W. 44 St) to celebrate the unveiling of his own caricature. Sting made his Broadway debut this season as a composer with the musical THE LAST SHIP, and is appearing on stage with the cast now through the end of the musical's run on January 24 at the Neil Simon Theatre. THE LAST SHIP will play its final performance on Broadway on Saturday, January 24 at 8 p.m., it has been announced by the musical's producers. The Last Ship began previews on Broadway on September 29 prior to its official opening on October 26, 2014. When the show concludes its 4-month engagement, it will have played 29 preview performances on Broadway and 105 regular performances at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 W. 52 St.) The Last Ship's music will live on with the Original Broadway Cast Recording, which was recently released on Universal Music Classics and debuted at #1 on Billboard's Cast Albums Chart last week.

A once-in-a-lifetime Broadway event took place yesterday, December 21, following the matinee performance of The Last Ship when patrons were invited to meet Sting and members of the cast on stage at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 W. 52 St.) as they signed copies of the recently released Original Broadway Cast Recording. 16-time Grammy Award winning musician Sting, who now stars in The Last Ship (for which he also composed the score), was joined by cast mates Michael Esper, Rachel Tucker,Jimmy Nail,Fred Applegate, Aaron Lazar, Sally Ann Triplett and Collin Kelly-Sordelet.
