There's magic onstage and off as Cabrillo Music Theatre readies THE LITTLE MERMAID! Thanks to community sponsors, busloads of underserved kids from the Boys and Girls Clubs will enjoy Ariel and her friends live onstage. Rescue Animals from local agencies have partnered with Cabrillo to find homes for as many new "family members" as possible. And audiences will be greeted by a live mermaid outside the theatre at two performances! All this on top of Cabrillo's all-new production of THE LITTLE MERMAID, live on stage!

Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID opens on Friday, July 15th, 2016, playing until Sunday, July 24th, 2016 at the 1,800-seat Kavli Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, located at 2100 Thousand Oaks Boulevard in Thousand Oaks. BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek at the stars in costume below!

In an effort to stay true to their mission of making the arts available to everyone, Cabrillo Music Theatre has teamed up with community partners to bring 500 deserving students from the Conejo and San Fernando Valleys .to see THE LITTLE MERMAID. Cabrillo is honored to partner with caring and supportive community members who understand that the arts not only enhance growth in positive social skills, but are also important to academic success. Community Sponsors include Alderman Bushe' Interiors, The Sleep Shoppe, Howarth & Smith, James Engel, and the Cabrillo Music Theatre Board of Directors. THE LITTLE MERMAID will be attended by young people from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Conejo Valley and Moorpark, Casa Pacifica, and The City of San Fernando Parks & Recreation Summer Camp. Thanks are also due to the Durham Bus Company, who are partnering with Cabrillo on transportation.

Other partners are teaming with Cabrillo on their celebrated Animal Rescue program. Paw Works, the locally-managed animal rescue organization, has committed to attend nine performances, giving MERMAID audiences the opportunity to meet, support, and perhaps adopt these deserving animals. Other organizations are signing on every day, and Cabrillo Music Theatre will welcome several organizations at each performance of THE LITTLE MERMAID.

Sheroes Entertainment, who recently partnered with Cabrillo Music Theatre at the recent "Part of Our World" Community Event, will make sure that the magic begins even before the audience enters the theatre. Sheroes will provide a live mermaid to greet guests before two performances, including Opening Night, July 15th. And, as is always the case, Cabrillo's youth performing group, the Kabrillo Kids, will perform outside the theatre at most performances. Audiences should arrive early to enjoy the full "Cabrillo" experience.

"This is Cabrillo Music Theatre at its' very best," says Artistic Director Lewis Wilkenfeld. Unlike most of the events in the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, we're local - so our outreach efforts and expanded experiences are built-in to our reputation. Our loyal fans love what we do - they stop me in the lobby and tell me so. It means something to them that their ticket purchases and donations are giving back to the community!" Adds Wilkenfeld, "I can't underestimate the importance of getting kids - ALL kids - into the theatre. It enhances their lives in so many ways! I'm proud of the community sponsors for stepping up to help a new generation fall in love with musical theatre!"

All of this is on top of THE LITTLE MERMAID itself. Full of great music (including "Part of Your World," "Kiss The Girl," "Poor Unfortunate Souls," and new songs written for the stage), dance, comedy, and romance, Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID will take you to places no musical has ever gone before! Stars Alison Bagli ("Ariel"), Conor Guzman ("Prince Eric"), David Engel (("King Triton"), Lawrence Cummings ("Sebastian"), and Debbie Prutsman ("Ursula") lead a cast of 39 and a full professional orchestra.

Cabrillo Music Theatre's brand-new production of Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID is appropriate for all ages, and is a magical show for families to experience together. As with all Cabrillo shows, Cabrillo will feature a signed performance for the deaf and hard-of-hearing on Friday, July 22nd, at 8:00PM. In addition, to accommodate audience demand and requests from community seniors, a mid-week matinee performance has been added on Wednesday, July 20th, at 1:00PM, featuring lower prices for seniors and free parking.

From animal rescue to introducing underserved kids to the theatre, from live mermaids, to the Kabrillo Kids, attending THE LITTLE MERMAID is more than just a great show - it's a full community experience! Walk, run, or SWIM to the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza! Spend your summer "Under the Sea" with Cabrillo Music Theatre's all-new production of Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID!
