Panic! Productions begins its 2015-2016 season with the classic musical, She Loves Me, September 11 through 27, at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts in Thousand Oaks. A beloved favorite of many musical theatre aficionados, She Loves Me features a book by Joe Masteroff, music by Jerry Bock, and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick. This newly staged, intimate production is directed and choreographed by Miriam Durrie-Kirsch, with musical direction by Diann Alexander.

A love story built on mistaken identity, She Loves Me features two feuding shop clerks who have no idea they are falling in love with each other via letters. With music by the same team that wrote Fiddler on the Roof, this less-known, but highly endearing musical has been nominated for five Tony Awards and is considered by many to be the most charming musical ever written.

"People unfamiliar with She Loves Me will undoubtedly still be familiar with its story," says Robert Weibezahl, Co-Producing Artistic Director of Panic! Productions. "The storyline, which is based on the play, Parfumerie, by Hungarian playwright Miklos Laszlo, as been the source material for some very famous films: The Shop Around the Corner starring James Stewart and Margaret Sullavan, In the Good Old Summertime starring Judy Garland and Van Johnson, and, most recently,You've Got Mail with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. This musical version from 1963 and the height of one of Broadway's Golden Ages is filled with the kind of tuneful songs they don't write anymore. Audiences will leave the theatre with many of melodies competing for space in their heads."

Appearing in She Loves Me are Brandon Hynum and Becca Peyton as the postmark-crossed lovers, with Tiffany Asta, John Wallis, Paul Panico, Robert Weibezahl, Frankie Rodriguez, Alex Gonzales, Larry Craig, Alisa De Los Santos, Annie Sherman, Matt Markham, and Noah Terry rounding out the cast.

She Loves Me opens Friday, September 11 at 8 pm and continues Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm, Sundays at 2 pm through September 27. Tickets are $24/$20 student and seniors, with group rates available, and can be purchased at www.hillcrestarts.com, by calling 805/381-1246, or by visiting the box office.
