Green Day's American Idiot is a two-time Tony Award-winning rock opera based on the Grammy Award-winning multi-platinum album, featuring every song from the American Idiot album as well as songs from 21st Century Breakdown and Nimrod. The book was co-written by Billie Joe Armstrong and Tony Award winner Michael Meyer, and the show explores disillusionment, consumerism, and media and government manipulation through a trio of friends struggling to find meaning in a modern world. Jobsite Theater's production is directed by David Jenkins, with choreography by Alexander Jones and music direction by Jeremy Douglass, featuring 16 performers and an on-stage six-piece rock band.
