BWW Review: THE FOREIGNER Reflects Open Hearts and Closed Minds at Carrollwood Players Theatre
by Deborah Bostock-Kelley - April 22, 2018
I've been to movies where the audience interacts with the actors on screen, but never have I been to a play like that. Surprisingly, it wasn't disruptive. It almost felt natural. The patron interaction to 'The Foreigner' was nearly as comical as the play. Director Miguel E. Rodriguez warned that (paraphrasing here) if we have half as much watching as he did directing, then we were about to have a fun night.
BWW Review: LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL is an Outstanding Production at New Tampa Players
by Deborah Bostock-Kelley - April 21, 2018
Ohmigod, you guys- the earworm that stays with you long after curtain call, that you find yourself looking for on Spotify on the drive home, but turn it off because it doesn't hold a candle to this version - is also my reaction to New Tampa Players' production of the musical Legal Blonde The Musical. This show is brilliant and Chelsie Camaro Smith proves she has star power!

Lindberg Comes To The Fringe
by BWW News Desk - April 10, 2018
'Fake News' and 'America First' may be part of the current political news, but this is not the first time these terms were tossed about. A world-famous celebrity may be leading a political movement, but that has happened before. Racism and xenophobia may be finding popular acceptance today, but these ideas were pushed years ago. In fact, these elements from today's world can all be found in the life of the famous pilot Charles Lindbergh and they are brought to life again in 'Charles Lindbergh: A Life of Flight' a one-man show with Chris Jackson, as the pilot, being presented at this year's Tampa Fringe Festival with performances May 4 through May 12.
Matthew McGee And James LaRosa To Star In THE PRODUCERS At American Stage
by BWW News Desk - April 10, 2018
American Stage in the Park brings Mel Brooks' classic cult comedy to Demens Landing! Winner of a record twelve Tony Awards including 'Best Musical', The Producers sets the standard for modern, outrageous humor. The story centers around down-on-his-luck Broadway producer, Max Bialystock (Matthew McGee), and his mild-mannered accountant, Leo Bloom (James LaRosa), who come up with a scheme to produce the most notorious flop in history, bilking their backers out of millions of dollars. Only one thing goes awry: the show is a smash hit! The Producers skewers Broadway traditions and takes no prisoners as it proudly proclaims itself an 'equal opportunity offender!' Contains some mature content. Parental guidance is suggested.
