The Heather Wraps Successful Season with DISGRACED

The Heather Wraps Successful Season with DISGRACED Image

In less than a month from closing the hugely successful production of David Mamet's RACE, The Heather tackles Ayad Akhtar's Pulitzer Prize winning drama DISGRACED. In the tight 85 minutes, liberal pieties will clash violently with starkly conservative attitudes on the subjects of religion, national identity, terrorism and even the state of Israel - a gift box, in short, of assorted radioactive topics.

These characters are all fascinatingly flawed, and their contradictions are a reflection of the conflicts pervading their histories and cultures. The brilliance of the play is the way in which identity and perception are shown to be complexly and unpredictably related that thrusts us into an escalating global debate. But instead of telling us what to think, Akhtar questions how we are thinking, and like any first-rate dramatist, he ends up humanizing the way we see the world. This riveting play features Shrey Neil, Lynn Single, Jesse Most, Krystal Nicole Watts, Peter Kostis, and is directed by the Heather's Artistic Director Ward Smith.

Showtime's are: Sept _ 22, 23 - 29, 30 at 8PM **Special added matinees: Sunday Sept 24th & Oct 1 at 3:00 PM $25.00 Tickets can be purchased online at: http://disgraced2017.brownpapertickets.com.
