DAVINCI & MICHELANGELO: THE TITANS EXPERIENCE Returns to Manatee Performing Arts Center

DAVINCI & MICHELANGELO: THE TITANS EXPERIENCE Returns to Manatee Performing Arts Center Image"DaVinci & Michelangelo: The Titans Experience," an original, nationally touring theater performance returns to the Manatee Performing Arts Center in Bradenton, FL for four performances to benefit the Manatee Performing Arts Scholarship Program. Performances are scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 28 and Friday, December 29 at 8:00 PM and two shows on Saturday, December 30 at 2:00 and 8:00 PM.

Mark Rodgers, the creator and host of the multi-media performance, is also the curator of the DaVinci Machines and Michelangelo Exhibitions for North America. Rodgers originally developed the idea to compare and contrast the two geniuses while curating the DaVinci and Michelangelo Exhibition in Denver, CO.

"I realized you can't talk about DaVinci without Michelangelo," explained Rodgers. "Many people don't know that they were not only contemporaries but also fierce competitors."

The performance has evolved, starting as an exhibition tour of only DaVinci then, over time, Rodgers incorporated elements of the Michelangelo Exhibition arriving from Florence, Italy. According to Rodgers, guests' response to his many early tours and performances ultimately drove him to incorporate both monumental geniuses into this one-of-a-kind, multi-media Broadway production that has been successfully touring the United States since 2015 when it made its debut at the Manatee Performing Arts Center. It will make its Off-Broadway debut at the Triad Theater in New York City for three performances on Nov. 24, 25, and 26th before returning to the Manatee Performing Arts Center this December.

"The performance is so unique and I am sure most theater patrons have never seen anything like it", explained Rodgers. "Some theaters goers have said that we have created a new art form." This multi-media event is a combination of host Rodgers and a production that includes movies, 3D-animations of machines and inventions, images of codices, artwork, paintings and sculptures.

"DaVinci and Michelangelo have an outreach and following that everyone can relate to," explained Rodgers. "Everything they said and did relates to our lives today." By the end of the performance we are connecting DaVinci and Michelangelo to our present-day geniuses of Les Paul, Van Cliburn and Paul McCartney."

"We are honored to be benefiting the Manatee Performing Arts Scholarship Fund for the forward thinking and bringing new and innovative educational programs to the students of Manatee County" concluded Rodgers.

Running Time: 2 hours with 15-minute intermission.

Tickets are for reserved seats and cost between $27.00 and $37.00. Tickets can be purchased at the Manatee Performing Arts Center located at 502 3rd Ave. W, Bradenton, FL, 34205. Tickets can also be purchased over the phone at 941-748-5875 or online at www.manateeperformingartscenter.com
