A heartfelt homage to a homegrown legend.
Hot on the heels of last year’s hit cabaret-concert Barbra: The Greatest Star comes an exuberant show honouring a true Australian showbiz icon. Peter Allen is the kind of superstar whose multi-generational legacy deserves more than a typical tribute – it deserves a full-scale celebration.
A collaboration between director Hayden Tonazzi and four brilliant vocalists: a live band led by Steven Kramer, the show weaves intimate insights with fresh arrangements of Allen’s trailblazing discography. From the high-octane showmanship of songs like ‘I Go to Rio,’ to tearjerking masterpieces like ‘Don’t Cry Out Loud’ and the anthemic joy of ‘I Still Call Australia Home,’ this concert will honour Allen’s life, work, and lasting impact on the world.
Starring Simon Burke (original Australian cast of Moulin Rouge the Musical and Les Misérables, Playschool), Kala Gare (SIX the Musical, My Brilliant Career), Ethan Jones (The Rocky Horror Show, 9 to 5) and Naisa Lasalosi (X Factor).
Hayes Theatre Co. announced a line-up for PETER ALLEN: NOT THE BOY NEXT DOOR, with Simon Burke, Kala Gare, Ethan Jones and Naisa Lasalosi as vocalists. Hayden Tonazzi will direct, with a band led by Steven Kramer.
