Sydney Chamber Choir presents In Paradisum, a program of choral music tracing themes of faith, light, and love, performed in the acoustic of St James' Church, King Street. The program features works by Estonian, Nordic, and Australian composers including Galina Grigorjeva, Arvo Pärt, Knut Nystedt, Veljo Tormis, and Australians Anne Cawrse and Joe Twist, conducted by artistic director Sam Allchurch. Cellist Julian Smiles joins the choir as soloist in works by Nystedt and Twist, his instrument intertwining with the voices to deepen the humanity within each score.
