The Metropolitan Orchestra (TMO) return to the Riverside Theatre in Parramatta for this very special
annual event showcasing some of the greatest movie music ever written. Led and hosted by dynamic
Chief Conductor Sarah-Grace Williams and backed by a full orchestra, this blockbuster event will
delight and inspire with incredible music from cinematic masterpieces that has become a component
of our very culture.
Featured composers include the irrepressible John Williams with music from Superman, Harry Potter
and Raiders of the Lost Ark, Elfman’s Spiderman, as well as music from Mission Impossible, Batman,
Back To The Future plus the incredibly moving Adagio for Strings from Barber as featured in many
movies including Platoon, The Elephant Man and Lorenzo’s Oil. The Adagio will feature TMO Concert
Master Victoria Jacono-Gilmovich on solo violin.
Hear, feel and watch incredible music you’ve grown to know and love, as well as perhaps one or two
works you didn’t know that you adored, all performed by a full, live orchestra. Whether you’ve been
to a live orchestral concert or not, this performance will leave you with a smile on your face while
humming (and picturing) your favourite movie tunes. This is a not-to-be-missed musical event that
all family members will enjoy at Western Sydney’s favourite venue.
The Metropolitan Orchestra Hollywood in Concert is presented in partnership with Riverside Theatre
and supported by the Inner West Council.
