Exposure at Dancehouse (Rising Festival / Australian Dance Biennale)
Dates: 5/27/2026 - 5/30/2026

Exposure is a live performance by Branch Nebula in which performers Latai Taumoepeau and Mirabelle Wouters subject themselves to oil, steel, and sustained physical force in a raw examination of the ageing female body. Bodies are bathed in black oil, steel bedframes are suspended and manipulated, and heavy objects are thrown into a domestic clothes dryer, their impacts amplified into a percussive rhythm. Operating at the intersection of the sensory and the cerebral, the work invites audiences into a collective act of witnessing — not a narrative to interpret, but an encounter with bodies persistently exposed to force, instability, and time. The Melbourne season at Dancehouse is presented as part of the inaugural Australian Dance Biennale, hosted by Rising Festival.
