Anyone who wants to marry Princess Turandot must solve three riddles. Wrong answers are punishable by decapitation. Prince Calaf, who is in Beijing, attracted by the cruel Princess beauty and decides to win her heart. His old father, Timur and slavinnan Liu, who has long loved Calaf, is trying by all means to dissuade him from that challenge. But Calaf is unwavering and love triumphs.

Puccini's music to the bloody saga of Turandot and her freer, shimmering beautiful, dramatic and deeply touching. Death is equally present in Opera as in the words of both his own life – Turandot is his unfinished works were written on the death bed in 1924 and was completed by Franco Alfano. Tenorarian Nessun Dorma is one of the opera world's most love.

When the Royal Swedish Opera has now released a new production of Turandot, we hear världssopranen Nina Stemme in the title role, a role that she does for the first time. The role of Prince Calàf, singing Nessun Dorma, sung by Riccardo Massi , who also makes his role for the first time. Nina Stemme sings long lead roles in the major operahusen as Vienna State Opera, Covent Garden, La Scala, Metropolitan and Bayreuth. Nina Stemme has also been appointed "best singer" in the German magazine Opernwelt. The Italian tenor Riccardo Massi has previously sung for, among others, La Scala, Berlin State Opera, the Metropolitan Opera and at Glyndebourne opera festival.
