The Whitworth Music Program is widely recognized for preparing students to excel in competitive graduate programs, performance careers, as music educators, and in a variety of other careers across the performing-arts spectrum. This acclaimed music program offers students a rigorous music curriculum within the context of a rich liberal arts experience.
The music program is a vibrant and thriving community of student and faculty musicians, composed of music and music education majors, as well as non-music major students who are involved in more than twenty outstanding instrumental and vocal ensembles. Whitworth’s music ensembles are open to all Whitworth students, and music scholarships are available to students of all majors.

Acceptance Rate:
Whitworth University has a very high acceptance rate of 91%, meaning it's a nearly open admissions school, and there's no specific acceptance rate for the music department, as it's not a separate application process.

The UConn School of Fine Arts Department of Music will present two performances this week as part of the UConn Music Inspire Series. On Thursday, Oct. 9, Ensemble Origo returns with Saravanda! Dances of New Spain, followed by a solo piano concert by Eric Reed on Friday, Oct. 10, at von der Mehden Recital Hall. Both performances begin at 8 p.m. and tickets are $15.

Rehearsed readings of the musical comedy America's Next Top Kid Chef Showdown by José Casas and Jenn Hartmann Luck will be held on Saturday, June 21, at 7pm and Sunday, June 22, at 2pm at the Provincetown Playhouse, 133 MacDougal St. Whimsical Cosmo Ridley hosts a top-rated kids' cooking show where four young contestants compete for the title of America's best kid chef and a $100,000 prize.
