Theatre brings a story to life. Right in front of our eyes – through acting, scripting, design and stage production – it creates one spectacular shared experience. It requires collaboration, communication and creative problem-solving. When you study at the Department of Theatre, you’ll be immersed in the field starting on day one. You'll have many different opportunities to apply your knowledge - including 14 annual performance opportunities and production training in multiple spaces. You’ll work directly with our supportive faculty members to master your craft. Outside of the classroom, we have very active student organizations, which offer additional opportunities to get involved in the process of making theatre.

Acceptance Rate:

The University of Northern Iowa (UNI) has a high acceptance rate of 94.4%, meaning it's a nearly open admissions school, and the Department of Theatre Arts is a well-known center for the development of new theatrical works.
