In the Department of Dance at UNC Charlotte, students find rigorous dance training and academic preparation and the flexibility and support needed to pursue individual interests and career paths. UNC Charlotte faculty are diverse in their perspectives and trainings and innovative leaders in performance, choreography, dance scholarship, and teacher training. For the first time since 2018, Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe will offer a summer show. The comedy, “Coconut Cake,” was written by Melda Beaty and recognized with the Sylvia Sprinkle-Hamlin Rolling World Premiere Award at the National (now International) Black Theatre Festival in 2022.

Florida Rep Executive Director Announces Retirement

Florida Repertory Theatre's longtime executive director, John Martin, announced his retirement in April, and will depart the organization after twenty-three years. The board of directors will conduct a national search to fill the position next fall, and Martin plans to remain involved in an emeritus capacity to ensure a smooth transition.
