Announcing the inauguration of a new department at UCSC: The Department of Performance, Play & Design! This new department is formed from the fusion of two existing units: the Department of Theater Arts and the Art and Design: Games & Playable Media Program. These two programs have come together to better serve students who are seeking not only advanced training in traditional theater and game design but also those who are interested in the areas where these two disciplines intersect: the vibrant and dynamic worlds of multimedia and multiplatform performance, interactive installation, and interactive narrative design! Join us as we step into the future with a broad-based understanding of performance in both the live and the digital universes!

As is usual with DET, the directing, performances, and technical aspects of the production are top-notch. Executive Artistic Director Brian Katz To Retire; New Leadership Announced

Custom Made Theatre Co.'s Board of Directors announced that co-founder Brian Katz will retire from his day-to-day position in mid-August after serving for twenty-three years, first as Artistic Director since their formation, and then as Executive Artistic Director since 2019. He will remain the President of the Board of Directors for the company.
