NMSU Theatre is proud of its 6:1 student to faculty/staff ratio, which allows our students to receive the personal attention given by such illustrious schools as Julliard and much more than most programs offer. In addition to scheduled classes, Independent Studies and Special Topic courses allow students to be individually mentored by department members, in order to further prepare them for their future careers. In addition to Department Head Wil Kilroy, faculty members include our Associate Professor Larissa Lury, Assistant Professors Lisa Hermanson, Nichole Hamilton, and continuing with the department as a visiting professor for the 2022-2023 academic year is Chloe Cappuccilli who will be serving as our Props and Costume Designer and David Hereford as our Technical Director. The professional staff includes Tamara Carruthers (Costume Shop Manager), Jim Wilkinson (ASNMSU Center for the Arts Manager/Sound Designer/Theatre Technician), Mike Wise (Production Stage Manager), and Melis White (Administrative & Fiscal Assistant)

Gregory Patterson, Executive Director of the Plano Symphony Orchestra, has announced that at the recent PSO Annual Meeting, the Board unanimously elected Brenda Mills as President as well as the election of several returning and new board members in addition to a slate of new officers. The Board voted to approve the following officers: Brenda Mills, President; Nancy Freeman, Vice President; Marion Brockette, Secretary; Craig Barber, Treasurer.

Ucross Announces Two Native American Fellows

Novelist Brandon Hobson lives in Las Cruces, New Mexico, where he is assistant professor of English at New Mexico State University.  He also teaches at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe. Interdisciplinary artist Jessica Mehta, currently based in Exeter, England, is completing a PhD at the University of Exeter. She was recently awarded a 2021/2022 Fulbright U.S. Scholar award in Bangalore, India. Both Fellows are enrolled citizens of the Cherokee (Aniyunwiya) Nation.
