The mission of the Midwestern State University Department of Music is to provide a comprehensive musical curriculum within a liberal arts framework for all students. Our degree programs systematically equip music degree-seeking students as professional musicians and prepare them for a career in music. In addition, the liberal arts foundation of our university develops the aesthetic sensibility, cultural awareness and social responsibility of each student.
