Greensboro College offers an intensive undergraduate theatre training opportunity within the context of a strong liberal arts environment with active student participation at the heart of the program. A vigorous curriculum that includes an "extensive hands-on experience" lays a strong educational foundation to produce well-rounded students who will grow intellectually, physically and skillfully into actors, designers, craftspeople and educators.

Burning Coal Theatre Company has announced its production of Lynn Nottage's Mlima's Tale, directed by Ana Radulescu.  Mlima's Tale will run January 26 – February 12, 2023, at the Murphey School, located at 224 Polk Street, Raleigh, NC 27604.   Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 2 pm.

Casting Set for Dominique Morisseau's PIPELINE at Studio Theatre

Casting is set for Studio Theatre's production of Pipeline, playwright Dominique Morisseau's searing drama about the school-to-prison pipeline and a mother desperately trying to keep her son from becoming ensnared in it. The production runs January 15-February 16, 2020 and is directed by Awoye Timpo. Starring are DC theatre favorite Justin Weaks (Studio's Curve of Departure) as high school student Omari and Andrea Harris Smith making her Studio debut as his mother, public school teacher Nya. In its recent People Issue, Washington City Paper's called Weaks a 'standout,' going on to say: 'D.C. theater audiences love Justin Weaks. ...Weaks came to D.C. for a job about four years ago, not expecting to stay. But he kept getting cast in shows, and lucky for local theatergoers, he's still here.'

2019 Marcia Quick Gard Theatre Arts Scholarship Winners Announced

The annual Marcia Quick Gard Theatre Arts Scholarship was founded and funded in 2018 by Larry Gard in memory of his wife and her life-long commitment to excellence as an actor.  The scholarship offers awards of both $1,000 and $500 to university level theatre students who intend to become professional actors.  The funds are intended to provide financial support for the recipients' education expenses.

Bay Street Theater Announces Its First Ever Intern Production

Bay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce the first ever summer intern production, OBAMA-OLOGY by Aurin Squire, directed by Bay Street's Directing/Producing intern Shea King and starring Bay Street Theater's 2018 Acting Apprentices. This production will run as the first show ever directed, produced, designed, and acted entirely by the summer intern company at Bay Street Theater. Performances run from August 9 - 11, 2018, with twilight performances at 4 pm.  Tickets are $12 or $10 for students (available at the Box Office only, with student ID.)

Bickford Theatre Announces Cast of A DOG STORY

The Bickford Theatre at the Morris Museum has announced the cast for the New Jersey premiere of the musical comedy A Dog Story. A hit in its Off-Broadway run in late 2016, the play will be directed by Bickford Theatre Producing Artistic Director Eric Hafen. A Dog Story will be performed from April 12 - 22, 2018. The book of the show was written by Eric H. Weinberger with music and lyrics by Gayla D. Morgan.

Public Gets Once Yearly Invite To Artist Studios, 5/19

The Sally & Don Lucas Artists Program at Montalvo Arts Center continues its Open Access series with Open Studios at the Lucas Artists Program, where artists invite the public to visit their studios and to explore their current work and creative process. Showcasing the unique range of art produced by Lucas Artist Fellows, this year's Open Studios event will include culinary artist Andrea Blum, composer/musician Juan Felipe Waller, poet Monica Sok, playwright Preston Lane, filmmaker T. Kim-Trang Tran, and visual artist Cassils. Delicious Mexican food and beverages-including beer and wine-will be available for purchase by guests. Open Studios at the Lucas Artists Program will be presented 12pm-4pm, May 19 at Montalvo Arts Center, 15400 Montalvo Road, Saratoga. Admission is free.
