Minor in Theatre

Welcome to the Department of Theatre and Dance website at Florida Atlantic University. We are currently in our 46th season of outstanding theatre training. Located in beautiful Boca Raton, Florida - the heart of South Florida’s theatre district, the Department of Theatre and Dance has at its disposal the bountiful resources of the vast metroplex. Established in 1974, the theatre M.F.A. programs were one of two programs singled out for excellence in the University’s re-accreditation in 2002. In 2003 Theatre joined with Music and Art to form the School of the Arts promoting interaction among the arts at FAU and acknowledging the arts at FAU as a major component of the University’s mission in South Florida. In 2008 dance joined theatre, and became an integral part of the department.
