Olney Theatre Center is rolling out a roster of events for the community on its campus, including live performances, parties, and talkbacks with Black artists and business owners to celebrate Black excellence and to highlight the many themes in and calls to action inspired by the world premiere of the musical Long Way Down.

Overture Center will present two free public events on Saturday, Feb. 24, in collaboration with Four Season Theatre's production of 'The Hello Girls: A New American Musical'. Learn more about the show and the events!

Six new members were recently elected to the board of trustees at Westport Country Playhouse, bringing the total to 26. The new Playhouse trustees are Dave Altman of Westport, Ben Frimmer of Weston, Darnell K. Graham of Bridgeport, Rashana J. Graham of Bridgeport, Anne Keefe of Weston, and Jonathan H. Levy of Westport. 

Yale Repertory Theatre  begins its 2023–24 season with Wish You Were Here by Sanaz Toossi, directed by Sivan Battat, October 5–28, at Yale Repertory Theatre. Opening Night is Thursday, October 12, which is also press night.

Babes With Blades Theatre Company's (BWBTC) 2023 season opens with an extended run of its new works festival, collectively called Fighting Words, June 17– 25 at The Edge Off Broadway, 1133 W. Catalpa.  All performances are free to the public and audiences can provide feedback on the scripts following each reading.

Yale Repertory Theatre has announced the commissioning of new work by Guadalís Del Carmen (Bees and Honey), Dave Harris (Tambo & Bones), Rachel Lynett [Apologies to Lorraine Hansberry (You Too August Wilson)], and Sanaz Toossi (English).

Raven Theatre will conclude its 40th Anniversary Season with the Chicago premiere of The October Storm, by Joshua Allen, a follow up to Allen’s smash-hit The Last Pair of Earlies.

“Mill Street Live” is a song and dance musical revue and is regarded as one of the most entertaining summer shows in the area. With music from the past six decades, there is something for everyone in the audience to enjoy.

The inaugural season of Wayward Voices continues with a workshop presentation of “Black Mexican” by Rachel Lynett. New York-based artist Gineiris Garcia is partnering  with Lynett and taking the reins as the workshop's director.

Like so many other awards presentations, the Young Entertainer Awards (YEA) in Hollywood are going virtual this year.

Edgewood College's Theatre Arts Department will stream three Zoom readings of plays on YouTube.

Renowned performer ALISSA RHODE leads a multi-talented quartet in RAMBLIN' RHODE AND THE ROADHOUSE ROWDIES, MARCH 19-22, 2020 in the MARLA EICHMANN STUDIO THEATER at SUNSET PLAYHOUSE in Elm Grove, Wisconsin. The group of family members and friends will entertain audiences with stories, anecdotes, and an eclectic musical mix of everything from folk to funk.

YALE SCHOOL OF DRAMA (James Bundy, Dean; Victoria Nolan, Deputy Dean) has announced the inaugural Yale Design Showcase, May 13-15 at 149 York Street, New Haven, Connecticut: an opportunity for theater professionals to visit the campus and meet the 2019 Class of scenic, costume, lighting, sound, and projection designers, and to see their work up close.

New Hampshire Theatre Project's Elephant-in-the-Room Series continues with the topic of School Safety in the 21st Century, featuring Poster 528, a compilation of readings on the issue of school safety.  Sources include Parkland by Dave Cullen, A Mother's Reckoning: Living in the Aftermath of Tragedy by Sue Klebold, The School Shooter: A Threat Assessment Perspective by Maryellen O'Toole/Department of Justice, and numerous articles, surveys, poems and personal stories collected by Genevieve Aichele, assisted by Tim Barretto, Kolby Hume and Catherine Stewart. New Hampshire Theatre Project is partnering with the Portsmouth Police Department on this program, and any donations at the door will benefit the PPD.

New Hampshire Theatre Project's Elephant-in-the-Room Series continues with the topic of the Opioid Crisis Effect on Families, featuring a reading of A Wider Circle by Mary-Ellen Hedrick.  A playwright and civics teacher from New Hampshire, Mary-Ellen's previous work, Throw Away People (featured at NHTP's 2017 Intelligent Theatre Festival), focused on the devastating consequences of heroin addiction for both individuals and the community.
