Welcome to the Department of Music, where you can work, play and explore the great cultural elements that make life in the city of Los Angeles so vibrant and cutting edge. Please join our internationally-recognized faculty who will expose you to the musical arts, past and present, that shape and contextualize our lives. You will study with fellow students who challenge you in an environment designed to sustain your creativity and talent. Our Music Program is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music and offers students a path to the State of California Single Subject Credential in Music. Music students perform in venues around Los Angeles through participation in our many varied ensembles. MUSIC offers undergraduate degrees with specializations in composition, commercial music, jazz studies, music education and performance. Our graduate programs include Afro-Latin music, performance, music education, and commercial music. Our students go on to perform, teach, and create at a high level all around the world. We are proud of the work we do and the impact we make on the community.
