Offering musical opportunities for students of all majors, the Department of Music at Benedictine is committed to providing a high-quality educational experience in music education, performance, and general music. Our strength in chamber music and small ensembles provides students a base for artistic and intellectual growth, as do the choral and instrumental ensembles that are available as part of our programs. Students also benefit from small class sizes, enabling them to receive individual attention from our faculty members.
OrchestraThe Bachelor of Arts in Music trains students to perform or pursue graduate studies in music scholarship, performance, and composition. The Department's new degree program in Music Education offers students a comprehensive program of study that will fulfill all the requirements needed for certification as a K-12 music educator in Illinois.

The UConn School of Fine Arts Department of Music will present two performances this week as part of the UConn Music Inspire Series. On Thursday, Oct. 9, Ensemble Origo returns with Saravanda! Dances of New Spain, followed by a solo piano concert by Eric Reed on Friday, Oct. 10, at von der Mehden Recital Hall. Both performances begin at 8 p.m. and tickets are $15.

Rehearsed readings of the musical comedy America's Next Top Kid Chef Showdown by José Casas and Jenn Hartmann Luck will be held on Saturday, June 21, at 7pm and Sunday, June 22, at 2pm at the Provincetown Playhouse, 133 MacDougal St. Whimsical Cosmo Ridley hosts a top-rated kids' cooking show where four young contestants compete for the title of America's best kid chef and a $100,000 prize.
