The WHY of MY City is a signature, multiyear project that seeks to collect positive stories of local heroes in economically disadvantaged neighborhoods struggling with decline. The WHY of MY City captures and documents pieces of African American history through written word and the arts while training the next generation to become active, engaged citizens. Audiences gain insight into their neighbors’ lives and forgotten historic places. Our goal is that programs and youth become a force multiplier, rippling into families, schools, and neighborhoods, offering solutions to common urban problems.
.ZACK is at 3224 LOCUST STREET, ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI 63103, St. Louis, MO.
