Everyone's Coming Out: The Q Collective Announces Festival Playwrights

The Q Collective announces the playwrights for its first annual THE COMING OUT PLAY FESTIVAL. 50 playwrights from around the world submitted 66 plays that explored all aspects of what it means to come out. We are pleased to be featuring St. Louis-based playwrights Elizabeth Breed Penny and Lisa Meyers in this year's festival.
9th STL Teen Talent Competition Announces Call For Entries

Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation (FoxPACF) is pleased to announce the 9th Annual St. Louis Teen Talent Competition. Registration is FREE and is NOW OPEN ONLINE at foxpacf.org for all performing arts high school students in the St. Louis Metropolitan area. Students will be vying for more than $40,000 in college scholarships, cash awards, and prizes as well as performance opportunities. Contestants must be enrolled in the 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade in the 2018-2019 school year and must attend a high school/home school within a 50-mile bi-state radius from the Arch.

Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of its opening in 1943, Rodgers and Hammerstein's OKLAHOMA! (September 7 - October 7) brings together a star-studded cast led by New York actors Blake Price as Curly and Sarah Ellis as Laurey. Joining them are three local actors familiar to STAGES audiences, Zoe Vonder Haar as Aunt Eller, David Sajewich as Jud Fry, and John Flack as Andrew Carnes. Making their STAGES debuts, both Price and Ellis were recently seen in the National Tours of the Tony-Award winning A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER which recently played St. Louis. David Sajewich returns to STAGES where he was seen last summer in SOUTH PACIFIC and in the 2015 production of THE FULL MONTY. Rounding out the cast are longtime STAGES favorites John Flack and Zoe Vonder Haar who collectively have appeared in over 70 STAGES productions and began their relationship with STAGES in 1990 and 1987 respectively.

I first saw Paula Stoff perform-oh, years ago¬-in a revue by the Non-Prophet Theatre. They had some fine local talent who were performing very well indeed. But when Paula stepped into the spot-light and sang I swallowed my gum! What in the world was this Broadway talent doing with this tiny company in St. Louis?? Now (as Paula Stoff Dean) she appears in her cabaret debut. I can only say, 'IT'S ABOUT TIME!!

Arts And Education Council Awards $45,000 In Grants For Rural Communities, Arts Organizations

The Arts and Education Council (A&E) has awarded five organizations a combined total of $25,000 through the Monsanto Fund Rural Community Arts and Education Program. Four additional organizations were awarded nearly $20,000 in support through the Monsanto Creative Impact Fund. Both grant programs are generously supported by the Monsanto Fund.
Edward Jones Raises $1 Million For Arts And Education Council For Second Year

The Arts and Education Council (A&E) announced today that Edward Jones and its associates raised more than $1 million to A&E's annual campaign for the second consecutive year. Over 2,500 associates contributed more than $702,000 toward the campaign through Edward Jones' workplace giving initiative. The firm made a corporate gift of $350,000, an 8% increase over 2017, bringing the campaign total to more than $1 million. The 2018 campaign marks the 40th anniversary of the firm's first gift to A&E. Since 1978, Edward Jones and associates have contributed nearly $11 million to A&E in support of the arts across the St. Louis region.
