Dramatic License Productions, a non-profit 501(c)(3) professional theatre and cabaret company in Chesterfield presents Steve Murray's family-friendly, one-man holiday play, This Wonderful Life, Dec. 2-19 (Thurs.-Sat. at 8p, Sun. at 2p) at Dramatic License Theatre in ARTropolis arts district in Chesterfield Mall.

The play, conceived by Mark Setlock is a funny and heart-warming theatrical re-enactment of the Frank Capra holiday classic movie, It's a Wonderful Life. 40 characters are played by one man--"the narrator"-- who, much like many families, has made watching the movie a holiday tradition. In Dramatic License's case, the actor tackling 40 roles in 75 minutes, is St. Louis stage veteran, Kevin Kline Award nominee and Actors' Equity Association member, Alan Knoll.

For the last 30 years, Knoll has worked in productions at (among others) The Repertory Theatre, St. Louis; the MUNY; New Jewish Theatre; and this past August, directed That Championship Season for Dramatic License Productions.

With a musical and sound "score" by Bobby Miller with help from Henry Palkes, lights and set by Ian Stoutenburgh and props by Peggy Knock and Kim Furlow, This Wonderful Life is a tour de force for Knoll, who also directs, and a holiday delight for audiences.

"Alan is hilariously schizophrenic as 'Jimmy Stewart playing George Bailey', immediately transforming into 'Lionel Barrymore as the evil Mr. Potter'", says Kim Furlow, executive producer. "Whether or not they've seen the movie, audiences will love this little "play with a heart" and Alan's 'dead-on' impersonations."

Performances are Thurs. - Sat. at 8 p.m. and Sun. at 2 p.m. Tickets for This Wonderful Life are $20/adults, $18/students & seniors (60+) and $15/groups (10+) with advanced purchase. For credit card purchases, visit www.DramaticLicenseProductions.org. Cash/Check only is accepted at the door. Performances are at Dramatic License Theatre at Chesterfield Mall (upper level entrance next to Houlihan's Restaurant). Seating is limited. Reservations required. 636-220-7012
