6th Annual Kevin Kline Award Tickets Go On Sale

By:

Tickets go on sale Friday, March 4 for the 6th Annual Kevin Kline Awards to be presented on Monday, March 28 at 7:30 at the Loretto-Hilton Center Browning Theatre on the campus of
Webster University in Webster Groves, Mo. The Awards ceremony, presented by the Professional Theatre Council, will recognize theatre artists in 22 categories (actor, designer, director, etc.).

General admission tickets are priced at $25. "Raising the profile of professional theatre outside the theatre community is crucial to our mission," says Nicole Hollway, Professional Theatre Council board member. "This year we wanted to make sure the event is as affordable as possible - everyone is invited to come celebrate with us." A limited number of VIP tickets are available at $150 and include premium reserved seating, a pre-show reception and preferred parking. All tickets include a post-show gathering which will host a DJ, snacks and a cash bar.

"Given the economy and the period of growth that the organization is going through, it was important to keep this year's ceremony realistic," says the event's producer and Professional Theatre Council board member Edward Coffield. "Celebrating the breadth of talent at work in this region is the most important thing."

Other changes this year include the council's name, which formerly included the word "awards." "The awards ceremony may be what we're most known for, but the organization was founded to promote and celebrate professional theatre in St. Louis, and that also includes education and
audience development," said Professional Theatre Council Vice President, Charlie Robin. "The longer vision of the organization is to broaden our identity and expand the way in which PTC supports the industry and the community, more than just an awards ceremony. Given the contribution that
the arts makes in the regional economy, this work is increasingly important."
