Just as Broadway is poised to open a musical version of Woody Allen's Bullets Over Broadway, we're getting ready to launch Woody's spray-coffee-through-your-nose romantic comedy classic Play It Again, Sam.

Joye Cook-Levy, who has directed the two most successful plays in our history (A Christmas Story and In The Next Room), will helm this production, which will star New York actors Gary Littman and Lija Fisher and local favorites, Cory Moosman, Amy Sue Hardy and Chad Siebert.

The play, which was staged before the film, showed Woody Allen perfecting the charming bundle of neurosis that would serve as his lifelong persona. Allen's character -- in this case, an insecure film critic - finds himself despondent after his wife leaves him, and he ends up getting dating advice from his guardian angel, Humphrey Bogart.

The show will run today, Jan. 30-Feb. 16, 7:30p Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 2p matinees Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets - $18-$33 for FAC members, $20-$37 for non-members and $15 for students. Go to fineartscenter.org, or call 634-5583.
