Winthrop University Announces 2010-2011 Performance Schedule

Political hostages, twisted takes on a classic fairy tale, warfare, AIDS - Winthrop University's Department of Theatre and Dance's 2010-2011 schedule promises to take on topics timely and universal, serious and entertaining.

Season ticket packages are now available through the department's ticket package website.

Included in the 2010-2011 season lineups are the following shows, showcases, festivals and performances:

SPRING 2011

ONCE UPON A MATTRESS
Music by Mary Rodgers; lyrics by Marshall Barer
Directed by Stephen Gundersheim
Feb. 23-26, 8 p.m., Feb. 27, 2 p.m.
Johnson Theatre
Tickets: $10 w/ Winthrop I.D. and $15/general public. Seating is reserved.

MANIPULATIVE
A dance performance conceived by Ashton Waldron (student choreographer)
March 25-26, 8 p.m.
Johnson Theatre
Admission is free; seating is limited.

SPRING ONE-ACT PLAY FESTIVAL
April 8, 8 p.m.; April 9, 2 and 8 p.m.; April 10, 2 p.m.
Johnson Studio Theatre
Tickets: $8 w/ Winthrop I.D. and $15/general public.
Seating is limited, and no late seating is permitted after performance begins. Plays contain adult language and content. Event is part of Rock Hill's Come-See-Me Festival.

THE COUNTRY WIFE by William Wycherley
Directed by Andrew Vorder Bruegge
April 13-16, 8 p.m.; April 17, 2 p.m.
Johnson Theatre
Tickets: $8 w/ Winthrop I.D. and $15/general public
Play contains adult content; performance is part of Come-See-Me Festival.

STUDENT CHOREOGRAPHY SHOWCASE
Coordinated by Stacy McConnell
April 20-22, 8 p.m.; April 23, 2 p.m.
Johnson Theatre
Tickets: April 20-21, $5 w/ Winthrop I.D. and $10/general public; April 22-23, $8 w/ Winthrop I.D. and $15/general public.
