By: Jun. 15, 2009

Village Square Theatre will hold open auditions for Agatha Christie's classic murder mystery, THE MOUSETRAP on Sunday June 28 and Monday June 29 at 7:00 PM.

There are roles for 3 women and 5 men ages 20 and up. Auditioners will perform be asked to read from the script.

Perry Simpson directs this production. You may email the director at psimpson@sc.rr.com for specific information about auditions or access details at www.villagesquaretheatre.com. The production runs weekends October 2 through October 11, 2009.

All auditions take place at the Village Square Theatre located just off Columbia Avenue (Highway #378) in Lexington. Turn onto Caughman Road between Mike Addy Dodge and Firestone Auto Care. Take a left just behind Firestone into the theatre's parking area.

Agatha Christie's intriguing mystery revolves around a group of strangers stranded in an English countryside boarding house during a snow storm, one of whom is a murderer. The suspects include the newly married couple who run the house, a spinster with a curious background, an architect who seems better equipped to be a chef, a retired Army major, a strange little man who claims his car has overturned in a drift, and a jurist who makes life miserable for everyone. Into their midst comes a policeman, traveling on skis. THE MOUSETRAP is the longest continuous running play in the history of the world.
