Stuff and nonsense are the order of the day as The Peanut Butter and Jelly Players (Columbia Children's Theatre's newest performance company, featuring actors in grades 1-6) present an original adaption of Lewis Carroll's classic Alice in Wonderland November 15 - 17. Performances are Friday at 7:00 pm, Saturday at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm, and Sunday at 3:00 pm. General admission tickets are $12 regular admission and $10 for active military and seniors with proper ID. Advance ticket purchases are strongly recommended and may be purchased securely on-line at www.columbiachildrenstheatre.com. All shows take place at Columbia Children's Theatre on the second floor of Richland Mall, 3400 Forest Drive in beautiful Forest Acres.

Adapted for the stage by CCT Artistic Director Jerry Stevenson, this re-telling of the story is "very loosely" based on the original and stays faithful to Carroll's beloved characters but puts them in a delightfully modern, hip and possibly hilarious context. Combining plot and characters from both Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass this tongue-in-cheek retelling has all your favorites such as The White Rabbit, The Caterpillar, The Cheshire Cat, The Mad Hatter, The Queen of Hearts and all the rest, but don't be surprised if a pop culture icon or two shows up as well. Did someone say Tweedle Dum and Dumber!?

Featuring a cast of more than 75 talented young actors in grades 1-6, The Peanut Butter and Jelly Players was established to fulfill a need among CCT's youngest YouTheatre participants who regularly had to compete with highly-trained middle and high school performers for roles. "They just weren't getting the kind of on-stage experience our education mission demands," said CCT Artistic Director Jerry Stevenson.

The cast includes Kyra Abreu, Ian Aitken, Beatrice Barilla, Hermione Barringer, Mary Kate Blackwell, Kaitlyn Branham, Noah Bridgers, Anna Brooks, Grant Brunning, Macie Ann Brunning, Madison Burns, Savannah Butler, Elizabeth Violet Calvo, Erin Carns, Hannah Chalfant, Alexia Cole, Alex Cone, ElizaBeth Crosby, Olivia Davidson, Chloe Davis, John Davis, Mary Jayne Davis, Sarah Davis, Sydney Davis, Zac Davis, Marissa Derrick, Cate Dingeldine, Courtney Hope Diveley, Danielle Doggett, Evie Dwyer, Bailey Eichhorn, Absalom Fischer, Samuel Fleischer, Lilly Flowers, Lila Garfield, Peyton Gleaton, Nati Glowacki, Amelie Gosselin, Maggie Hadley, Julian Jones, Hannah Montgomery, Marion Jones, Sofia Jones, Abigail Kahn, April Lund, Taylor Marks, Kelli McAlhany, Rian McCallum, Brennan McCort, Kathryn McKinney, Ally Montgomery, Abbie Marie Morris, Sarah Mueller, Anayah Muhammad, Emma Myers, Kristin Nix, London Oana, Ebahi Okoduwa, Lauren Paynter, Meredith Paynter, Laney Peyton, Piper Phipps, Anna Reese Rankin, Caroline Reames, Alana Reid, Nathaniel Riley, Mason Robinson, Luke Schrader, Dakota Shiflett, Grayson Elizabeth Taylor, Cameron Truesdale, Zane Truesdale, Tag Vitale, Jacqueline Walker, Stella Rose Walters, and Jimmy Zalimas.

Alice in Wonderland runs November 15 - 17 with shows Friday at 7:00 pm, Saturday at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm, and Sunday at 3:00 pm. General admission tickets are $12 regular admission and $10 for active military and seniors with proper ID.
