"Do You Hear the People Sing?" The musical phenomenon that has enthralled spectators all over the globe comes to South Bend Civic Theatre this summer. Based on the masterwork by Victor Hugo, LES MISERABLES shares the lives of men, women, and children struggling to survive and make their voices heard against oppression and injustice. The odyssey of Jean Valjean from embittered convict to love and redemption has captivated readers and theatregoers for generations. Now, SBCT presents the musical in a homegrown production with area talent.

Director David Case storms the barricades with Amara Ball, Michael Ball, Lucy Beard, Sarah Beudert, Sage Bladow, Mike Bogdan, Garrett Czosnowski, Courteney Ebert, Patrick Farran, Martin Flowers, Samantha Funk, Dominic Go, Sam Green, Dawn Marie Hagerty, Will Heckaman, Richard Hete-Mandoza, Jill Hillman, Sarah Holaway, Perry Hunt, Celina Hunter, Joshua Ingel Jr, Andrew Lester, Sean Leyes, Natalie MacRae, Justin McCormick, Sky Medors, Michelle Miller, Kayla Miller, Alison Minegar, Aaron Nichols, Caitlin O'Brien, Dominic Oletti, Tom Powell, Kathleen Raab, Natalie Rarick, Amada Riuero, Nicholas Salay, Stephen M. Salisbury, Stephanie Salisbury, BJ Simpson, Jillian Tully, and Douglas Williamson.

Written by the musical team of Claude-Michel Schonberg and Alain Boublil, with English lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer, the American production of LES MISERABLES premiered in 1987 on Broadway, winning eight Tony awards and popular acclaim. Songs such as "I Dreamed a Dream," "Master of the House," "One Day More," "On My Own," and "Bring Him Home," have entered the musical theatre canon as legendary standards for actors and vocalists alike. The all-star film version of 2012 won multiple awards and brought new audiences to this landmark musical.

South Bend Civic Theatre's production of LES MISERABLES performs in the Wilson Mainstage Auditorium July 12-28. Show times are 7:30 PM Wednesdays and Thursdays ($18), 8:00 PM Fridays and Saturdays ($21), and Sundays at 3:00 PM ($21).
