TO STAND SOMEWHERE

TO STAND SOMEWHERE is an hour-long solo storytelling piece, written and performed by Ter Hollmann and directed by Moses D. Rasekele. The production will be performed at the Alexander Bar's Upstairs Theatre for three performances this July.

TO STAND SOMEWHERE is a show about how one man brought down apartheid and the forces of evil, freed Mandela, sucked "nigger balls" and learnt to live with white guilt. A funny, thought-provoking journey to find out to what makes us South African, what makes us African, and what makes us human? A collection of monologues about being white in South Africa, TO STAND SOMEWHERE is a journey through the last days of Apartheid into the muddled mess of the Rainbow Nation. It explores ideas like crime, privilege, stereotypes, 1994, and the "should I stay or should I go" conundrum with charm and gentle insight.

TO STAND SOMEWHERE runs from 21 - 23 July. Tickets cost R80-R90 and can be booked online at the Alexander Bar website or purchased at the bar. For telephone bookings and enquiries, call 021 300 1652. Alexander Bar & Café is situated at 76 Strand Street in the Cape Town city centre and can be followed on Facebook and Twitter.
