Theatre for Africa will hold two preview performances of RAIDERS OF THE CARIBBEAN and one of CATTLE DRIVE at the Rosebank Theatre this June, prior to the shows' seasons at the National Arts Festival which starts at the end of the month.

The twenty-ninth edition of the popular "Raiders" franchise, RAIDERS OF THE CARIBBEAN, promises to be a wonderful story of steamy romance and high adventure, told with great humour and fun. A star-studded cast of award winners, musicians and actors will come together in this production, led by decorated master theatre-maker, Nicholas Ellenbogen. He will be joined by the vibrant Jessica Sole as Kate, the macho Matheo Karabo as Captain Kariba, the luscious Belindile Ngcobo as the Rasta Queen, Mary Monday, and master musician Jono Tait as the pirate captain, Bloody Brian. Tait will also collaborate with Ellenbogen to create the music and soundscape for the production. Year after year, the "Raiders" shows fill the theatre with good wholesome fun and laughter, with the 2015 edition winning a Standard Bank Ovation Award at the National Arts Festival.

CATTLE DRIVE earned three nominations at the Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards earlier this year following its well-received run at the Rosebank Theatre last year. The production, created by Nicholas and Luke Ellenbogen, stars multiple award-winning actor Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, Motheo Karabo and Belindile Ngcobo. Set during one of the great cattle drives through the bush of Botswana, CATTLE DRIVE is a tale of two brothers who come to a new understanding of one another through the gruelling experience of pushing a herd of half-wild cattle to the markets in the south.

RAIDERS OF THE CARIBBEAN will play the Rosebank Theatre in Cape Town on 23 and 24 June at 20:00, with CATTLE DRIVE following at the same time on 26 June. Tickets cost R150 and can be booked through Liz on 072 316 6133. The shows then transfer to the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown, with RAIDERS OF THE CARIBBEAN playing the Thomas Pringle Hall from 30 June - 8 July and CATTLE DRIVE playing the Princess Alice Hall from 29 June - 8 July.
