The fabulous Marc Lottering

Fresh from a run at the Soho Theatre in London earlier this year, Marc Lottering brings his new one man show called THIS IS CAPTAIN LOTTERING SPEAKING to the Baxter Main Theatre for a limited season from 2 to 20 September 2014.

Aside from Lottering's side splitting stand-up comedy, the show will also feature the hugely popular characters that have made this comedian a household name in South Africa. Aunty Merle finds herself at the Airport Departures Hall, armed with a freshly baked tart for her friend Rose Kannemeyer, who's off to visit family in PE. Pop idol wannabe Galatia Geduldt is on a plane, and finally off to Jozi to record her first demo after meeting a Producer in a take-away in the Bo-Kaap. Pastor Brandon is taking a short break from the Church, and leaving for the States after a tabloid newspaper publishes a story about him and his "laying on of hands" approach as witnessed in a parked car at Sunrise Circle in Muizenberg.

Lottering is one of South Africa's top award winning comedians. He has been in the funny business for 16 years, and continues to play to packed houses wherever he performs. Hailing from Cape Town, Lottering has been in the funny business for 16 years and continues to keep audiences in stitches across the country. He has extensive experience in both theatre and television, and has written no fewer than fifteen one-man hit shows for the stage. When not performing locally, he also entertains homesick South Africans abroad. He has been the recipient of several prestigious awards along the way. Lottering fans can follow Marc on Twitter @marclottering, or visit his website for more details on this fabulous perfomer.

THIS IS CAPTAIN LOTTERING SPEAKING is at the Baxter from 2 - 20 September from Tuesdays to Saturdays at 8:00pm and 8:30pm. Tickets cost R85 per person via Computicket or 08619158000. For group bookings and fundraiser enquiries, please call Sharon Ward at the Baxter, on (021) 6803962.
