LIEWE HEKSIE to Play Artscape, 17-19 July

Lefra Production's hit stage production of Verna Vels's LIEWE HEKSIE will be presented from 17-19 July at Artscape. There are two performances daily at 09:30 and 12:00 and the show is perfect entertainment for pre-schools, crèches playgroups and primary schools.

Frans Swart, the director of LIEWE HEKSIE, had adapted two brand new stories for the stage, namely LIEWE HEKSIE EN DIE TUPPELS and WAAR IS KLEIN KWAAITJIE KABOUTER? "It was so much fun to work on LIEWE HEKSIE," said French. "Verna's characters are so believable that it was so easy for me to give them life on stage." Ana van Achterbergh plays Liewe Heksie. Botha Enslin plays several roles, including the Geelheks, the Groot Trol and Kwaaitjie Kabouter, Johnny Klein is Koning Rosekrans and Karel Kat and Debre Rossouw plays Kwaaibabatjie and Blommie Kabouter. The set design is by Kosie Smit.

Swart is also very excited to present this production at Artscape in Cape Town. "It's great that we can tour with the production and also introduce the wonderful world of theatre to children. It is so important for us to do this type of children's theater because it's the only way we get children back into the theatre and how we grow a new generation of theatergoers.With Artscape's wonderful facilities and holidays, this will definitely be a pleasant experience for everyone."
